Withdrawing from a Credit Class and Refund Information

Anne Arundel Community College will evaluate a transcript from another college or university for acceptance toward a degree or certificate program. Information on transferring credit is available online. AACC has established transfer agreements with dozens of schools inside and outside of Maryland for a variety of majors.
AACC is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, which maintains quality assurance in institutions of higher education for the mid-Atlantic region. In addition to Middle States, many of AACC’s academic programs receive additional accreditation from other organizations recognized by the Maryland Higher Education Commission, the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the United States Department of Education. You’ll find the separate accreditation status of select AACC academic programs, such as Nursing and other health-related degrees, the culinary program, the Child Development Center and more, within the descriptions of the individual programs.
State regulations require legal authorization for post-secondary institutions to offer distance education to student who are located outside of the institution’s home state. Anne Arundel Community College is an approved institutional member of the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) and is offering distance education in compliance with all other states’ laws. Professional licensure is a process of state or other governmental entities that establish standards of practice and give legal permission to practice a profession by providing licenses or certifications to individuals who meet those standards. Requirements for professional licensure in fields, such as accounting, education, and nursing, and many others, vary from state to state. Certain credit and noncredit programs offered by the college are designed to meet licensure or certification requirements in the state of Maryland and may not meet requirements from other states.
If you plan to apply for licensure or certification in a state other than Maryland, please review our Professional Licensure webpage for information about your specific program of interest as well as contact information for the licensure and certification boards for programs of study that may lead to licensure or certification.
Anne Arundel Community College sends each enrolled student and employee by October 1 of each year a notice of the availability of the Annual Security Report. This report is available online and upon request.
Any coeducational institution of higher education that participates in Title IV, the federal student aid program, and has an intercollegiate athletics program, per 34 CFR 668.47, must prepare an annual report by October 15 each year. It must be made available upon request to students, prospective students, and the public. A prospective student is defined as an individual who has contacted an eligible institution requesting information concerning admission to that institution.
All users of college computers are required to read and acknowledge an Acceptable Use statement prior to gaining access to the network. This information identifies the specific college policies for which the user needs to abide by.

Students wishing to be admitted to certain programs of study at Anne Arundel Community College may be required to provide proof of immunization or immunity for required vaccinations prior to enrollment in the program. These immunization requirements are based on guidelines set forth by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, program accreditation standards and the best interest of students. The admission requirements for most health profession programs of study require completion of a heath examination record with conformation of the required vaccinations.
